  This monitor worked ok at first but it has increasingly gotten louder and louder in terms of static. It started out that it had to sit in a few certain places around the house and it would be ok but now nowhere we sit it is it ok! My mom got one too for when she baby sits and one of her receivers completely stopped working and the one that does is doing the same thing. I would not recommend this if you want to use them longer than 1 year. My son is 14 months and I am getting a new one.

  Works very well and allows the owner to choose between different channels to reduce inteference. I would suggest a squelch button but that is not a big deal as the sound is much more clear and with much less static noise than the previous two Fisher Price monitors my parents were using.

  We picked these monitors based on the largely positive reviews. They are horrible. One of the receivers has never worked properly (the lights all stay on all the time) and Fisher Price has never responded to my request for a replacement.

  There is so much static on these monitors that it wakes my wife up at night. You can have the monitor sitting on the table and, for no apparent reason, it just goes to a loud static for several minutes. We have tried all the channels with the same result. It doesn’t matter if we are in the living room which is 15 feet from the baby’s room or in our master bedroom which is across the house, the things are still full of static.

  I would give these monitors 0 stars if I could, but I have to give 1 to allow me to write a review. I highly recommend you select different monitors.

  After 2 months, our base unit quit working, so we bought a new full set, giving us 1 base unit and 4 parent units. Then, over the next few months, some of the parent units stopped working as well until we were back down to 2 parent units. Now, 2 years later, the last 2 parents units are starting to break as well, and will just turn themselves off in the middle of the night. I definitely don’t recommend these monitors!

  I really wanted to buy a monitor that wasn’t super expensive and that had the light option on it in case you are in an area when you can’t hear the volume well. This is the best monitor as far as sound, reception, and the range is superb. I have taken this down the drive way to get the mail and it still worked. We have twins and each is in a different crib on opposite sides of the room. With this baby monitor and even having music on in their room I can hear each of them clearly. The volume is loud. I actually have to have the one in our bedroom on the lowest it can go because it will almost sound like they are right next to me. scary at 3am. I highly recommend this baby monitor.

  I must say this product is top notch. We are amazed at the optional it comes with (3 different Lullabies, temperature notification etc…). Most importantly it work perfectly as a monitor as it only transmits when there is sound in the room, getting rido of any static noise. Highly recommended! The only reason I don’t give it full stars is that it does not have an option for Celsius temperature reading and only come in Fahrenheit and living abroad we have to calculate the temperature.

  I love gadgets so was excited to purchase this monitor. And when it arrived I was delighted. Very compact - tons of great features - love the fact I could talk to my daughter. BUT - one very basic flaw - the sound on the parent unit is WAY TOO LOW. My husband was putting my daughter down to bed and she was having a temper tantrum because she didn’t want to go - and I could hardly hear it. If I was asleep - forget it. Save your money. Avent worked on cool features, which are great, but in my opinion they need to work on the basic “you can hear your baby” feature.

  This monitor works so well. It works so well that you can hear our child breathing at night but, there is NEVER any static!!

  At first (as a tech-geek) I thought I needed to have a video monitor for my new (first) baby. I took the “of course I need that” approach, but decided to read through a bunch of review sites (including Amazon) to see what other parents were buying. I am glad I chose this one instead of paying a ton for the video monitor.

  The sound quality of this monitor is spectacular. I hear absolutely NO interference with anything. I have a wireless G network, two cell phones, and two cordless phones (1 is 2.4ghz; 1 is 900mhz) in my house. The range is also spectacular inside my house, I have yet to hear even a crackle of static or noise. I really like that it has music built in, actually very soothing for my son while we rock him in our glider (however, there aren’t many songs so you hear the same songs quite often). I also love the fact that I can tell the temperature in his room to make sure it’s not too hot/cold. The light on it is not very helpful.

  The downside I’ve found so far is that the battery life on the monitor is pretty short, so I find myself keeping it on the charging base quite often. Other than that, we love this product. The only other thing I’d like to see is the ability to turn on the music from the remote monitor, but not a big deal.

  Oh and one last feature my wife and I love is that it is also a 2-way intercom, so when one of us is in the nursery with the baby we can talk to the other person and they can talk back. Great when we need something from downstairs while rocking the baby.

  We have this monitor which is why I am searching for a new monitor. All in all it’s not a bad monitor. It picks up our son’s whimpers. It does have some static which does not bother us but for people who need quiet to sleep it may. Our issue is the battery life when the monitor is off the charger. There is no way the monitor can be off the charger for more than a couple of hours. We feel attached to an outlet when the baby is sleeping. Coincidentally we are probably going to go with another Graco model.

  We initially LOVED this monitor, but now, they don’t seem to have the range they did at first. We constantly have to move it or adjust it in order to keep it functioning and not “beeping” at us. Very annoying. Not sure why the problem - they are 2 1/2 years old so may just have worn out, but I sure wish they worked as well as they did when we first bought them. I hate to have to throw them out!
