This monitor is really easy to use. The pan and zoom features are really nice. The picture and sound are clear and the range is about what they claim. I have not experienced any interference with the wireless network in our home. The screen is bigger than a lot of the competitors out there. However, I do wish it came with a bigger screen like the other Summer monitor. I probably would have purchased that one if it were digital but we opted for the digital monitor instead to get the clarity and privacy. The other Summer monitor that isn’t digital has a hand held video monitor, a larger 7″ screen and an A/V output on the smaller hand held so you can plug it in to your tv for an even bigger picture. All of those features would have been nice on this one but again traded those features for the digital feature. It is true that the screen flashes bright and then light while on the night vision mode but I’m not entirely sure that can be avoided. The motor for panning left/right up/down is so quiet our baby doesn’t even notice. The picture is so good that I can actually see her breathing. As far as the battery life goes, I can’t really comment too much on that. I used it for max of about 3-4 hours and it still had battery life in it. I haven’t really needed to be away from her for more than that without being in a place where I can plug it in. I usually let it run on battery while I’m doing chores around the house, but when I’m settled in a room I just plug it in. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. Our daughter has had several medical problems and this has helped give me peace of mind. I’m not running into her room every 5 min just to make sure she’s still breathing or she hasn’t gotten herself twisted in the crib bars. I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this baby monitor because it received mostly decent reviews here and at Babies ‘R Us. However, this monitor was busted before it was fully unpacked! The screws that hold the power adapter together were stripped out of their holes the first time the adapter was removed from a socket. This wasn’t a manufacturing defects, it was a design flaw. No matter how good the rest of the components may be, as a system this monitor is useless, so don’t waste your time or money on it.

HI. I just purchased this video monitor last week. I like it alot with one major exception, explained in next paragraph. Unlike some other reviewers, I have not had very many problems with it. Some reviewers said that they had problems with the nite- vision flashing every 5 seconds. I have not experienced this issue at all, I keep it running on the cord by my bed every nite. No issues at all. It is a bit bright, but I just face the screen parallel to myself as I’m lying in bed. I have had no issues yet with the batteries either, or with it interfering with my other electronic devices. Also I have had no problems with the sound indicator lights on the front panel, that indicates when baby is making noises. I usually have the volume off, it still flashes when baby makes a noise to get my attention.

The one feature that I do not like about my monitor is that if you are running it on batteries, then the screen turns off automatically. This feature bothers me alot. i think they did this to save on battery life, but it really annoys me, as I want to just be able to glance at the screen to check on baby, and instead I have to hit the video on button at the top of the monitor. However if it is plugged into the wall charging cord it does not do this. I almost returned this monitor for this reason. However, I do love that it Pans and zooms, so I have decided to keep it.

Also, if you are going to be using this monitor in a darkened room for naps and nite time then you should know that it is going to show you the picture in black and white. i have the shades drawn in my babys room for naps so the picture is in black and white all the time. It kind of defeats buying a color monitor. The color quality is also not that great but I felt that the pan and zoom feature was worth keeping the monitor. So because of the automatic turn off and the pointless color features I have given this product 3 stars.

Overall, this monitor works really well and gets the job done. The picture quality is good, although it is black and white. It is easy to use and gives us the freedom to do household chores while keeping an eye on the baby. I did however just read the other reviews. We have a wireless router and have had our internet go in and out. We just switched to another internet provider hoping that would solve the problem not knowing it was the interference with the monitor. Great buy if you don’t have a router!

I see lots of people with the SAME problem I have had, so it apparently isn’t a freak issue.

I bought this monitor because ones we’ve used in the past have had a lot of static and have picked up the neighbor’s children.

This one worked great at first, but after a month of use it started having lapses, little hiccups, shall we say. Then it started letting out a shrill beep for no apparent reason. Going right back to normal use. Lovely inthe middle of the night. But, the really insidious problem that made me return it was when it stopped working, but yet LOOKED like it was working. Green light on, soft white noise coming from the unit, but that was not what was going on in the baby’s room! My poor boy might have cried all night and I wouldn’t have known.

I have to say, PASS ON THIS MONITOR!

We just got this adorable monitor and are enjoying it! The screen is very large and clear and we love how you can clip the daisy anywhere near the baby. It provides a lot of options. We are very happy with it.

We initially purchased this item shortly after my son was born. At the time we lived in a one-story small house (2400sqf) on the outskirts of town. Since we didn’t have any neighbors close by and the house was small, the monitor worked flawlessly. Several months ago we moved into a larger two-story house in the middle of a neighborhood, with our bedroom on the ground level and the nursery on the upper.

This is where it became spooky. The day we moved in, we were positioning the furniture and monitor in the new nursery. We plugged in the camera, and checked that hand-held to make sure the viewing angle was okay. We then decided to unplug the camera to use a different outlet, and the instant we unplugged it the picture of our child disappeared (obviously) but we were then able to see one of our neighbor’s babies lying in their crib. Needless to say, that was a bit disturbing. We switched frequensies, but we couldn’t get over the fact that someone else might be able to see our son.

Even if the other baby had not shown up on our monitor, we soon found that we couldn’t use this monitor in our new house due to the fact of a high amount of interference when we tried to use it in our bedroom. With the layout of the new house (the nursery is on the opposite side of the house and on a differnet floor) the unit just isn’t strong enough to cover the distance.

On a positive note, while in our old house we had very little interference and the picture was great. If we cranked the volume up, we could easily hear our baby breathing. In the new house, the video of the neighbor’s child that first night was crystal clear. Just thinking about it, though, creeps me out….
